UPSC Engineering Services Examination 2010

The Union Public Service Commission will hold the Engineering Services Examination, 2010 commencing from 26th June, 2010. The examination will be held at various centres across the country.

Salient features of the examination are published herein for general information of candidates. For details regarding the Syllabi and Scheme of the examination, Centres of examination, Guidelines for filling up application form etc. aspirants must consult the Detailed Notice of the examination published in the Employment News/Rozgar Samachar dated 30th January, 2010.

1. CONDITIONS OF ELIGIBILITY

(a) Age Limits:

Not less than 21 years and not more than 30 years on 1M August. 2010.

The upper age limit is relaxable for Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes/ Other Backward Classes and certain other categories of candidates to the extent specified in the Notice.

(b) Educational Qualifications:

A candidate must hold a Degree in Engineering or equivalent. Provided that a candidate applying for the post of Indian Naval Armament Service (Electronics Engineering Posts) and Engineer Group ‘A’ in Wireless Planning & Coordination Wing/Monitoring Organisation may possess M.Sc. degree or its equivalent with Wireless Communication. Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as a special subject.

Candidates who qualify on the basis of results of the written part of the examination will be summoned for personality test.

(c) Physical Standards:

Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to Engineering Services Examination, 2010 as per Regulations given in Appendix-ll of Rules for Examination published in the Gazette of India Extraordinary dated 30,h January, 2010.

2. How to Apply:

(a) The Commission proposes to make available online application submission for Engineering Services Examination, 2010 from 6″1 February, 2010 to 22nd February, 2010, for which a separate notice is to be issued.

(b) The Candidates who wish to apply offline must apply in the Common Application Form devised by the Commission for its examinations, which can be purchased from the designated Head Post Offices/Post Offices (specified in Appendix-Ill of the Notice published in the Employment News/Rozgar Samachar) throughout the country against cash payment of Rs. 20/- (Rupees twenty only). Each such Form can be used only once and only for one examination.

In case of any difficulty in obtaining Application Forms from the designated Head Post Offices/ Post Offices, the candidates should immediately contact the concerned Post Master or UPSC’s “FORMS SUPPLY MONITORING CELL” over Telephone No. 011-23389366/ Fax No. 011-23387310.

3. FEE :

Rs.100/- (Rupees One Hundred only) through Central Recruitment Fee Stamp only. SC/ST/Female candidates are exempted from payment of Fees. (OBC candidates are required to pay full fees).

4. ADDRESS AND LAST DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONS :

All offline applications must reach the “Secretary, Union Public Service Commission, Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi – 110069” either by hand or by Post/Speed Post or by Courier, on or before the 2nd March, 2010.

However, in respect of candidates residing abroad or in certain remote areas specified in the Notice the last date for receipt of applications by Post/Speed Post only (not by Hand or by Courier) is 9,h March, 2009.

5. FACILITATION COUNTER & WEBSITE FOR GUIDANCE OF CANDIDATES:

In case of any guidance/information/clarification regarding their applications, candidature etc. candidates can contact UPSC’s Facilitation Counter near C gate of its campus in person or over Telephone No.011-23385271/011-23381125/011-23098543 on working days between 10.00 A.M. and 5.00 P.M.
