Tamil Medium Reservation: 20% reservation on preferential basis for persons studied in Tamil Medium is followed as per existing G.O. This reservation is subject to the availability of suitable eligible candidates. In the event of non-availability of such candidates the post reserved for PSTM candidates will be filled by General candidates.

Special Reservation: 3% Reservation for the Differently Abled will be followed as per existing G.Os.

Qualifications:
1. Assistant Professor (Engineering Subjects) [Civil, Mechanical, EEE, ECE, EIE, Computer Science and Engineering, Production Engineering and Metallurgy]: B.E. / B.Tech and M.E. / M.Tech. in the relevant branch of Engineering or Technology with First Class or its equivalent either in B.E or B.Tech. or M.E. or M.Tech
2. Assistant Professor (Non-Engineering Subjects) [English / Mathematics / Physics / Chemistry]:
1. Master’s Degree in the relevant subject with good academic record of not less than 55% of marks or an equivalent Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) from an Indian University or an equivalent Degree from a Foreign University, and
2. Pass in the National Eligibility Test (NET) for Lecturers conducted by the UGC, Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) or similar test accredited by the University Grants Commission.
Provided that holders of Ph.D Degree are exempted from passing the said test.

Age: Candidates should not be over 35 years of age, as on 1.7.2014 for Engineering Subjects and Non-engineering Subjects. (As prescribed by the Director of Technical Education)

Application form and Examination fee: The Application Form (OMR format) along with Prospectus can be purchased (from 20.08.2014 to 05.09.2014) in person from the
Office of the Chief Educational Officers of all 32 Districts in Tamilnadu on payment of Rs.100/- (Rupees Hundred only) in cash towards the cost of the Application Form and Prospectus.

Submission of Filled-in Application Forms: Candidates are advised to submit the filled- in forms at the Office of the Chief Educational Officer concerned on or before 05.09.2014 upto 5.00P.M, and obtain acknowledgement for the same. Candidates are advised NOT to send the filled-in Application forms by post or in person to the Teachers Recruitment Board, Chennai-6. These will not be accepted. Applications received in any form other than the one issued by Teachers Recruitment Board or Chief Educational Officers shall be rejected.
