ICRISAT seeks applications from Indian nationals for the position of Special Project Scientist- Computational Genomics, to be part of a team of Centre of Excellence in Genomics (CEG), (www.icrisat.org/ceg) to work on Generation Challenge Programme (www.generationcp.org) sponsored project entitled “Integrating GUI for genomic selection in IBP tool box”. The position will be based at ICRISAT’s Headquarters in Patancheru, near Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India.
The Job: Responsibilities for these positions include:
- Developing a graphical user interface (GUI) of the genomic selection pipeline
- Handling large scale genotyping data generated from next generation sequencing
- Coordinate and management of genomic selection related activities in chickpea and groundnut
- Compiling and analysis of results, writing reports and research papers
The Person: Ph.D/Msc with two years research experience. in Biotechnology, Computational biology, Agricultural Plant Biotechnology, Genetics, Molecular Biology or related discipline.
