Udupi Cochin Shipyard Limited (UCSL), Malpe in Karnataka State, a wholly owned subsidiary company of Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) invites Online Applications from Indian citizens for filling up the following Supervisory posts on contract basis for Udupi Cochin Shipyard Limited (UCSL), Malpe:

Essential: i) For the education qualification specified in category a)a) Minimum of Seven years Post qualification experience in • Ship Building or • Ship Repair or • Engineering companies or • Offshore platform or • Marine related Engineering companies or • Government / Semi-Government Companies / Establishments.b) The last 2 years of experience shall be in a supervisory capacity.ii) For the education qualification specified in category b): a) Minimum of 15 years Post qualification experience in • Ship Building or • Ship Repair or • Engineering companies or • Offshore platform or • Marine related Engineering companies or • Government / Semi-Government Companies / Establishments.b) The last 3 years of experience shall be in a supervisory capacity.Desirable: i) Proficiency and experience in welding techniques and NDT techniques. ii) Knowledge about marine hull and mechanical systems. iii) Familiar with class rules and regulations for marine vessels. iv) Experience working in a computerized environment. v) Experience in the areas of fabrication or Quality control department or Hull production or piping functions. vi) The number of welding Qualification tests passed (positions 3g or above, base materials, etc) during the tenure as a welder will be considered as an added qualification. |

i) UCSL reserves the right to increase/decrease the number of vacancies or not to fill up any of the vacancies or cancel the recruitment process, as per its requirement.
ii) Reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) shall be as per Govt. of India Guidelines.
Period of Contract & Place of Posting:
a0 The above post is temporary in nature and for a maximum period of five years subject to project requirements and individual performance.
b) The posting shall be at the UCSL Malpe Unit/any other UCSL units/project sites as desired by UCSL. However, depending on project requirements, the candidates are liable to be transferred to different units of UCSL. The appointment to the post carries with it the obligation to serve in any department of UCSL or on-board ships or in any of the units/work sites/ projects undertaken in any part of India or abroad as the case may be.
Remuneration: The remuneration details for the post are as under: TABLE 3

AGE:
The upper age limit prescribed for the post shall not exceed 45 years as of 12 July 2024 i.e. applicants should be born on or after 13 July 1979.
- The upper age limit is relaxable by 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates in posts reserved for them.
- Age relaxation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) and Ex-servicemen shall be as per Government of India guidelines. However, in no case, the age limit after applying all age relaxations shall exceed 50 years.
Method of Selection: The method of selection shall include:
- Phase I – Written test (Objective Type Test – 40 Marks & Descriptive Type Test- 40 Marks) for all the posts
- Phase II – PowerPoint presentation on work experience (20 Marks) for the posts mentioned in SL No. 1, 2, 3 and 5 of Table 2.

The application consists of two phases – One-time Registration and submission of application against the post applicable. Applicants should not submit more than one application. Application once submitted shall be final.
- Applicants meeting the notified requirements may do the one-time Registration in the SAP Online portal and submit their application. Application submitted directly or by any other mode shall not be accepted.
