For Recruiting Year 2023-24, the recruitment of Agniveers will be carried out in two phases:
Phase I – Online Computer Based Written Examination (Online CEE)
Phase II – Recruitment Rally.
Procedure for Online Registration
- All candidates to log in to joinindianarmy.nic.in, check their eligibility status and create their profile.
- Online Registration (submission of application) will commence from 16 February 2023 to 15 March 2023.
- Examination Fee: Examination fee of Rs 250/- per applicant is to be paid by the candidate for the online
examination. The candidate on successfully filling the application will be directed to SBI portal through a link on the website. At the SBI portal make payment of Rs 250/- plus Bank charges as applicable. The payment can be made through any of these payment options available:-- Payment Gateway Facility through Maestro, Master Card, VISA, Rupay Cards both Credit & Debit of all
major banks. - Internet banking of SBI and other banks.
- UPI (Bhim)
- Payment Gateway Facility through Maestro, Master Card, VISA, Rupay Cards both Credit & Debit of all
- Duplicate/Incomplete/Erroneously filled application will be rejected.
- Candidates are required to have an active email & mobile number which will be used for further
communication. - Candidates should apply only once in response to this notification.
- Candidates must indicate five choices of the exam centre. All Possible effort would be taken to allot exam centre based on first three choices.
- Request for change of exam centre or date of selection test will not be entertained.
- Candidates not reporting for the test on due date & time will not be accommodated on other dates.
- Candidate should enter AADHAR number in online application.
- For online registration & online application, assistance will also be provided to candidates at ARO Secunderabad on working days from 1000 Hours to 1400 hours.
Online CEE:
- Category wise link has been provided on JIA website to enable candidates to practice online CEE as per their
category. All candidates are advised to carry out practice at least once before appearing for actual CEE. - Animated videos “How to Register” and “How to Appear for online CEE” are available on
www.joinindianarmy.nic.in
Candidates are advised to upload only recent colour photographs on JIA website. In case of uploaded photographs not matching with face, candidate will not be allowed to appear in the online CEE.
Candidates are to reach at the examination Centre with colour print out of admit card. Candidates shall be debarred from appearing in online test in case anomalies/irregularities / incorrect information are observed during initial verification at the examination venue or at any subsequent stage of selection process.
The candidates should carry his AADHAR Card (as displayed on the Admit Card) as proof of identity whenever they report for the Selection Test (Phase-I & II) and Medical Test.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
The selection of candidates will be carried out for following categories as per qualitative requirement:

Note : Candidates with valid Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) Driving License will be given preference for Driver requirements. |
(b) | Agniveer Technical (All Arms) | 17 1/2 – 21 Yrs | 10+2/Intermediate Exam pass in Science with Physics, Chemistry, Maths and English with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 40% marks in each subject.
OR 10+2 / intermediate exam pass in Science with Physics, Chemistry, Maths & English from any recognized State Edn Bd or Central Edn Bd to include NIOS and ITI course of min one year in required field with NSQF level 4 or above. Note: Candidates who have appeared in class 10th and class 12th Board Exam and are awaiting declaration of results are also eligible to apply provided they fulfill all other QR. Such
candidates, however, shall only be selected when they produce the original marksheet during the Phase II of recruitment process (Internet copy of marksheet not acceptable) as also such candidates should secure the minimum laid down marks in aggregate as well as in individual subjects for respective category for being eligible to participate in Phase II – Recruitment rally.
Education Certificates issued by Education Boards Affiliated to / listed by State/UT Govt, AICTE, CBSE and NIOS only will be considered.
Candidates applying for Agniveer Tradesman (All Arms) 8th Pass should bring 8th class marks sheet countersigned by the Block Education Officer/ District Education Officer.
It is mandatory for the candidates who have passed class 10th with GPA/Grade system to carry their mark sheet obtained from respective board.
Date of Birth: Candidate born between 01 Oct 2002 to 01 April 2006 (both days inclusive) are eligible to apply.
Physical Standards: Refer to the attached notification.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. AGNIVEER will be enrolled in the Indian Army under Indian army Act 1950 for a period of four
years. AGNIVEER would form a distinct rank in the Indian Army, different from any other existing ranks. Indian Army is not obliged to retain AGNIVEER beyond the engagement period of four years.
2. On completion of four years of service, based on organization’s requirements and policies
promulgated by the Indian Army, AGNIVEER will be offered an opportunity to apply for permanent enrolment in the Indian Army. These applications will be considered in a centralized manner based on objective criteria including performances during their four year engagement period and upto 25% of each specific batch of AGNIVEER will be enrolled in regular cadre of Indian Army. AGNIVEER will not have any right to be selected for further enrolment into the Indian Army. Selection of the AGNIVEER for further enrolment, if any, shall be at the discretion of the Indian Army.
3. Employability. AGNIVEER enrolled under this entry are liable to be assigned any duty in
organizational interest, at the discretion of the Indian Army.
4. Training. On being enrolled, AGNIVEER will be imparted military training based on Indian Army
requirement.
5. Leave. Grant of leave will be subject to exigencies of Indian Army. The following leave may be
applicable for Agniveer during their engagement period :-
(a) Annual Leave : 30 days per year
(b) Sick Leave : Based on medical advice.
6. Medical and CSD Facilities. For the duration of their engagement period in Indian Army, AGNIVEER will be entitled for medical facility at Service Hospitals as well as CSD provisions.
7. Pay, Allowances and Allied Benefits. AGNIVEER enrolled under this scheme will be paid an
AGNIVEER package with a fixed yearly increment. In addition, Risk and Hardship allowances (as applicable in Indian Army), Dress and Travel allowances will be paid.
8. Terminal Benefits – Seva Nidhi Package. AGNIVEER will be given one time „Seva Nidhi’ package comprising their monthly contribution with matching contribution by the Government on completion of their engagement period, as indicated below:

Note 1. AGNIVEER will not be required to contribute to any Provident Fund of the Government.
Note 2. There shall be no entitlement to any gratuity and any kind of pensionary benefits in case of AGNIVEER.
9. Insurance, Death and Disability Compensation. AGNIVEER will be provided non-contributory life insurance cover of Rs 48 lakhs for the duration of their engagement period as AGNIVEER in the Indian Army. AGNIVEER will not be governed by provisions contained in the Pension Regulations/Rules for Indian Army.
10. Agniveer Skill Certificate. At the end of engagement period, a detailed Skill-Set certificate will be provided to the AGNIVEER highlighting the skills and level of competency acquired by the personnel during their engagement period.
11. Personnel enrolled under this Scheme will not be eligible for Ex-Servicemen Status.
12. Only unmarried candidates will be eligible for enrolment as Agniveers and they must undertake not to marry during the defined engagement period of four years. Agniveers who marry during the said period would be released from service. Further, only unmarried Agniveer will be eligible for re-enrolment in regular cadre as Sepoy/ equivalent on selection as currently in vogue.
Recruitment Rally: Candidates will be tested as stated below during the Phase II:

Arms & legs should be straight, feet joined with toes pointing downwards. |
Note : Candidates appearing for Agniveer Tech and Agniveer Clk/ SKT only need to qualify in all tests.
The above are minimum prescribed standards and do not guarantee selection as a right to candidates achieving them. Final selection will be based on over all merit position of the candidates.
(b) Physical Measurement Test (At Rally Site). Physical measurement will be carried out as per the laid down Physical standards.
Medical Examination.
(i) Medical examination of candidates who qualify in Physical Fitness Test and Physical Measurement Test will be conducted by Army Medical Team at the Rally site as per Army Medical standards and policy in vogue on the subject issue.
(ii) Unfit candidates will be referred to MH for specialist review. Candidates to report to designated Military Hospital within 5 days from referral and review medical exam to be completed by Military Hospital within 07 days as per policy.
(iii) The recruitment medical officer and the specialist doctors of Armed Forces are the final authorities on declaring a candidate fit or unfit during initial med examination, review medical examination and med examination prior to enrolment. The candidates shall be governed by Army standards which may be at variance from civil standards. There is no provision for representation or appeal or re-review after the review medical examination.
(iv) Passing in the medical examination is not a guarantee for employment in Indian Army.
(v) The candidates should be medically fit to join Indian Army at the time of Rally. The
Medical Standards have been uploaded on the website www.joinindianarmy.nic.in.
Note : Candidates discharged from the Indian Armed Forces for any reason are not eligible to appear in the selection test.
Result of written examination will be declared on the official website joinindianarmy.nic.in. No separate letter will be sent to the candidate. It is responsibility of candidate to check his result and report to Army Recruiting Office, Secunderabad for documentation.
