ICRISAT invites applications for the following posts:

1. Scientific/Managerial & International Recruitment
Eligibility:

• Phd Degree in Genetics and plant breeding or biometrics
• Experience with marker – trait association analyses
• Experience with analysis of complex phenotyping datasets
• Experience with sorghum genetics and breeding is an advantage
• Experience with sorghum field experimentation is an advantage
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and knowledge of French is an advantage

Reward: The Fellowship is for a period of 12 months and extendable based on funding availability. An attractive compensation in US Dollars will be offered to the right candidate. The Post-Doc Fellow will be based at ICRISAT/IER in Bamako, Mali.

2. Principal Scientist-Applied Cereals Genomics
The Principal Scientist will be based at ICRISAT Headquarters near Greater Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India, working within the Research Program on Dryland Cereals and reports to the Research Program Director-Dryland Cereals.

Qualifications and Experience:

• PhD degree in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Plant Biology, Plant Breeding, Genetics or other related field.
• At least 10 years of post-doctoral research experience in plant breeding, genomics, molecular biology or marker-assisted breeding.
• A record of achievement with academic publications, development and management of research grants, and capacity building initiatives.
• Fluency in spoken and written English is essential, and knowledge of French will be an advantage.

Reward: This is an internationally recruited staff position with an attractive and competitive salary and benefits package payable in US dollars. The position is initially for three years, and extendable depending on performance of the incumbent and funding availability. An attractive compensation will be offered for the right candidate.

3. Principal Scientist/Senior Scientist – Economics
The incumbent will be based at ICRISAT Headquarters, Patancheru, Hyderabad, India. She/He will be primarily responsible for implementation of project activities in eastern India (Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha).

Eligibility: Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics, Economics, or related social science discipline with a minimum of 7-10 years’ experience in rural studies including poverty analysis, food security, vulnerability, social mobility, innovation systems, and the capacity to translate the findings of applied research into policy recommendations. Ability to link micro and macro approaches and provide feedback for R&D and policy makers is expected. Substantial experience in handling large aggregated datasets, managing and analyzing farm surveys, and computer skills in data analysis are essential.

Period and Remuneration: This position is in ICRISAT’s Scientific and Managerial Group (SMG) with a highly competitive pay and attractive benefits payable in Indian Rupees. The appointment is initially for three years and likely to be extended depending on requirement, funding availability, and performance of the incumbent.
