The Department of Biotechnology, Government of India is establishing the Centre of Innovative and Applied Bioprocessing (CIAB), formerly BioProcessing, as a national institute in the “Knowledge City”, at Sector-81, SAS Nagar, Mohali (Punjab). This futuristic innovation institute of its own kind in the country would advance knowledge, leads and emerging technologies/processes towards applications and products and link them with entrepreneurs in the area of bioprocesses, bio¬products, value-addition to bioproducts with special reference to the agri-food sector. To steer this mission of secondary agriculture biotechnology and realize the vision of catalyzing technology translation catalyzed side-stream products from agriculture activity and farm income augmentation, the institute requires faculty of scientists and technologists as under:

1. Research and Innovation- Associate Plant Manager – One Position, (Unreserved).
Age limit: Below 55 Years.
Essential Qualifications: Ph.D. or First class M.Tech./M.E. in Chemical Engineering/Chemical Technology/Process Design Technology/Processing Plant Engineering/Bioprocess Technology.

2. Scientist E/Scientist D – One Position (Unreserved)
Age limit: 55 years for Scientist E and 50 Years.
Essential Qualifications: Ph.D. or First Class M.Tech./M.E. in Food Science/Food Technology/Food Engineering/Food Chemistry.

3. Research and Innovation-Processing Plant Engineer – One Position (Unreserved)
Age Limit: 50 Years.
Essential Qualifications: Ph.D. or First Class M.Tech./M.E. in Food Science/Food Technology/Food Engineering/Food Chemistry.

4. Scientist D (Catalysis Chemist) – One Position (Unreserved)
Age limit: 50 Years.
Essential Qualifications: Ph.D. in Chemical Sciences/Technology with specialization chemical catalysis or applied catalysis.

5. Scientist D (Nano-Technology Translation Products) – One Position (Unreserved)
Age Limit: 50 Years
Essential Qualifications: Ph.D. in Nano Science and Technology or Ph.D. in Chemical Sciences/Technology/Bio-medical Engineering and Bioscience Engineering.

6. Scientist-D/Scientist-C (Production Chemist) – One Position (Unreserved)
Age limit: 50 Years for Scientist D and 45 Years for Scientist C.
Essential Qualifications: Ph.D. in Chemistry with specialization (Thesis) related to natural products isolation and modification/derivatization/semi-synthesis.

7. Scientist-D/Scientist-C (Biosynthetic Technology/Synthetic Biology) – One Position (Unreserved)
Age Limit: 50 Years for Scientist D and 45 years for Scientist C
Essential Qualifications: Ph.D. in biological science with specialization (Thesis) in molecular biological approaches to answer a question.

8. Research & Development – Informatics Officer – One Position (Unreserved)
Age Limit: 45 Years
Essential Qualifications: Ph.D. or First Class M.Tech/M.E. in Information Technology or Computer Sciences.

9. Research and Innovation – System Analyst (Performance and Up-Scaling) – One Position (Unreserved)
Age limit: 35 Years
Essential Qualifications: Ph.D. or First Class M.Tech. /M.E. in Bioprocess Technology or Ph.D. in Science/Technology with specialization (Thesis) related to bioprocesses/biomass processing.

Selection Process:
1. The applications received against the advertised positions would be screened by a Screening-cum-Shortlisting Committee constituted for the purpose.
2. The candidates from amongst the eligible candidates would be short-listed by the Screening-cum-Shortlisting Committee on the basis of qualifications, duration, nature and quality of experience etc.
