BPCL produces a diverse range of oil products from auto fuels, petrochemicals and solvents to aviation turbine fuels, specialty lubricants, and markets them through a wide network of retail outlets, kerosene dealerships, and LPG distributorships besides supplying fuel directly to hundreds of industries and several domestic and international airlines. To fuel its growth, BPCL is looking for young, energetic, ambitious Graduate Engineers in the field of “Mechanical Engineering” for the post of “Management Trainee“. Mechanical Engineers desirous of pursuing a career with BPCL are required to appear for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE-2013).

Educational Qualification
Candidates should have passed qualifying degree examination (B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc- (Engg.) in First Attempt in the discipline of Mechanical Engineering (excluding Production / Mechatronics / Manufacturing / Industrial Engineering etc.) from Indian Universities / Institutes / Colleges recognized by AICTE/UGC (full time regular courses only)

Note:
1. Candidates in the final year of their engineering studies may also apply. However, they must fulfill the eligibility criteria in all respects w.r.t. educational qualification, percentage of marks, age, etc. and if such candidates are short listed for further selection process, they will have to submit documentary proof of having passed the degree examination with the prescribed percentage of marks.
2. First Attempt means the candidate should have passed the qualifying degree within the prescribed period.

Percentage of Marks
Candidates, belonging to General and OBC (Non- Creamy Layer or NCL) categories, should have secured minimum 60% marks in qualifying degree examination. The applicable minimum percentage of marks for Scheduled Caste (SC) / Scheduled Tribe (ST) /Persons With Disability (PWD) candidates is 50%.  Candidates in the final year of engineering studies belonging to General and OBC (NCL) categories, should have secured minimum 60% marks ( in aggregate upto last semester), relaxable to 50% for SC/ST/ PWD candidates.
Note:
a) Percentage of marks would be the aggregate of all semesters irrespective of the norms / system being followed in the College/Institute/University to calculate the
percentage of marks.
b) Wherever CGPA/OGPA/DGPA or Letter Grade is awarded, the percentage of marks must be calculated as mentioned in the above paragraph (a).
c) No rounding off percentage would be allowed.

Upper Age Limit as on 01.06.2013
Maximum 25 Years for General Category candidates as on 01.06.2013. Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/PWD candidates will be applicable as per the
Presidential/ Government Directives.

Concessions/ Relaxations
Reservation of posts for SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/ PWD (degree of disability 40% or above) will be as per Presidential/ Government Directives.

For PWD candidates, based on the physical requirements of the job for the post of “Management Trainee – Mechanical Discipline”, the category/sub-category of Disability
identified for the post is OH (OL) viz Orthopaedic Handicap (One Leg).

Age relaxation :
Upper age limit is relaxable for reserved category candidates as under :-
• SC/ST – by 5 years
• OBC (NCL) – by 3 years*
• PWD – by 10 years for General, 13 years for OBC (NCL) and 15 years for SC/ST categories.

Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (NCL) & PWD categories will need to furnish valid caste certificates & PWD Certificates respectively as per the formats prescribed by Government of India.

* For getting the benefits of reservation under OBC (NCL) category

(i) The name of caste and community of the candidate must appear in the ‘Central list of other Backward Classes’
(ii) The candidates must not belong to creamy layer. The candidates will need to furnish their OBC (NCL) certificate as per the format prescribed by Government of India and the date of issue should be on or after 1st September, 2012.

Age relaxation by 5 years for candidates domiciled in Jammu & Kashmir between 1.1.1980 and 31.12.1989.

Age relaxation by 5 years for Ex-servicemen & Commissioned Officers (including ECOs & SSCOs, subject to rendering minimum 5 years’ military service and fulfillment of other conditions prescribed by Government of India.
