Bose Institute, Kolkata invites applications from Indian Citizens for the following temporary positions in the DST sponsored IRHPA-II project entitled “Study of cosmic ray interactions and cosmic ray aerosol cloud connection in the context of regional climate change” under Prof. Sibaji Raha, Principal Coordinator and Investigator, Department of Physics (CAPSS).
All the positions are temporary and co-terminus with the project on 31.07.2017.
A. Research Scientist – D (Position-02) :
Essential Qualification: Ph.D. in Cosmic Ray / Experimental high energy physics / Atmospheric physics / Radio Physics / Instrumentation with relevant post doctoral experience of minimum 03 years.
OR
M.E. / M.Tech in Radiophysics & Electronics / Electronics & Telecommunication Engg. / Instrumentation / Atmospheric Science with minimum 04 years’ experience in either the field of Particle Physics detector Development / Atmospheric Science Instrumentation / Microwave & Millimeterwave application in Atmospheric Science research.
Tenure: Initially for one (01) year, renewable yearly on satisfactory performance (maximum upto five (05) years or till the present completion day of the project, whichever is earlier)
Scale of Pay: Rs. 15600 – 39100, Grade Pay Rs. 7,600/- plus admissible allowances including CPF contribution.
Candidates with excellence academic records but less experience may be considered for lower grades.
B. Research Associate (Position-01) :
Essential Qualification: A good M.Sc. degree followed by a Doctorate degree in an appropriate field
OR
M.E. / M.Tech. Followed by three (03) years’ research experience in related area.
Desirable Qualification: Research experience in Cosmic Ray Physics / nuclear instrumentation / atmospheric science instrumentation / atmospheric modeling.
Associateship: Rs. 22,000/- p.m., plus admissible HRA and Medical benefit
Candidates who have just submitted their P.hd. thesis may also apply. If, found suitable, they will be appointed as Extended Senior Research Fellow on a fellowship of ? 20,000/-p.m., plus admissible HRA and Medical benefit and will be upgraded to Research Associate after getting their P.hd. degree and satisfactory performance during the tenure as Extended SRF.
C. Junior Research Fellow (Position-01) :
Essential Qualification: 1st class M.Sc. degree in Physics / Chemistry / Atmospheric Science from a recognized University with CSIR-UGC NET-JRF or CSIR-UGC NET-LS / GATE qualification.
Fellowship: Rs. 16,000/- p.m., plus admissible HRA and Medical benefit for CSIR-UGC NET-JRF
Rs. 12,000/- p.m., plus admissible HRA and Medical benefit for CSIR-UGC NET-LS / GATE.
D. Administrative Assistant (Position-01) :
Essential Qualification: Graduate in any discipline.
Experience: Minimum three (03) years’ experience in office work.
Desirable: Computer knowledge for drafting letters, experience in purchase.
Consolidated Pay: Rs. 17,000/- p.m.
Age* :
For Research Associate – Below 35 years
For Junior Research Fellow – Below 28 years
For Adminstrative Assistant – Below 30 years
