Essential Qualifications	Master’s degree in Physical Sciences or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology or equivalent from a recognized University.
Experience	10 years experience in R&D in Industrial/ Academic Institutions and/or Science & Technology Organizations.	8 years experience in R&D in Industrial/ Academic Institutions and/or Science & Technology Organizations.	4 years experience in R & D in Industrial/ Academic Institutions and/or Science & Technology Organizations.
Desirable Qualifications	a) Doctorate degree or equivalent in related subject from a recognized University. b) Experience in managing and directing R & D projects/programmes. c) Published research work of high standard and/or good record of patents granted/filed.
Job Requirement	The candidates are expected to lead a team of personnel and actively participate in designing and executing different R&D projects for product/process development, including subsequent scaling up of technologies to pilot plant level and demonstration of their application potential for their eventual transfer to the industry.
Specific Job Requirements	The candidates should have appropriate research and application development expertise in the following areas as evidenced by peer reviewed publications and patents: a) Development of Lithium-ion battery materials and experience on battery plant operation, fabrication of Lithium-ion battery electrodes, cell assembly & electro-chemical characterization. b) Synthesis of nano materials for targeted applications (Lithium-ion battery/visibleLight photocatalysis), familiarity with relevant characterization tools such as XPS, Gas Chromatography etc. c) Processing and characterization of soft and hard magnetic materials and developing applications based on them, particularly for automotive industry.

* Total gross emoluments (as per 6th Central Pay Commission) at minimum of the basic pay/pay band, inclusive of grade pay, DA at current rates, HRA and Transport Allowance.

OTHER BENEFITS: In addition to the above emoluments, benefits such as New Pension Scheme (NPS), Gratuity, Group Insurance, Medical Reimbursement, Children Education Allowance, Reimbursement of residential telephone bills (for Scientist ”E”/”D”), Professional Update allowance, LTC are available. Vehicle, Housing and Computer loans are also available as per seniority and subject to availability of funds.
